Internships and Jobs
Chemical engineers pursuing BS, MS and PhD degrees with an emphasis in data science are in demand. In the chemical industries, jobs are available across the entire enterprise -- from research & development, to pilot plants & production, and to customer relations & business management -- where ChEs can use their domain expertise. Outside the chemical industries, ChEs are also in strong demand, because of their strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Plus, universities are seeking young faculty members to leverage their combined ChE/DS background to start their own groups while collaborating with colleagues in multiple research areas.
